The hotel

The grand hotel is Bad Ems' former Kurhaus, a building dating from 1711; it took its present form in 1912–1913. In front of it, King Wilhelm I met the French ambassador Benedetti on 13 July 1870 – the prelude to the “Ems Dispatch”. The hotel is run by the Häcker family, with the restaurant “Benedetti” and its own thermal pool.

If you would rather stay at the thermal baths: the Emser ThermenHotel has a bathrobe corridor to the Emser Therme but is about 1 km from the casino (around 15 minutes on foot).
