The hotel

The relexa hotel is right on the spa park, about 150 m from the Therme Bad Steben. It has a restaurant, bar and a 1,200 m² spa. Its website presents the casino in its own section, with a free roulette lesson for hotel guests on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm (please check with the hotel).

The casino

Bad Steben is Bavaria's youngest casino. Meinhard von Gerkan's (gmp) glass-and-timber building has an undulating roof – an image of the ups and downs of play and the hills of the Franconian Forest. Live games start at 6 pm, slots at 1 pm; the “CasinoLIVE” stage hosts cabaret, jazz and readings.

Getting there

Bad Steben station is only about 170 m from the casino; trains from Hof Hbf take about 40 minutes.

Good to know

The casino opened on 23 March 2001 after almost two years of construction and covers about 4,000 m².

Bavarian casinos are still closed on these days in 2026: 1 Nov, 15 Nov, 18 Nov, 22 Nov and 24 Dec.

Recent changes

The hotel used to run a restaurant inside the casino. That ended in late 2022; since January 2023 the casino has run its restaurant itself.
