The hotel

Maison Messmer says it has welcomed guests since 1834; Emperor Wilhelm I and Empress Augusta stayed at the Messmer house on their visits. Today it belongs to the Hommage Luxury Hotels Collection, with 132 rooms and 21 suites, the restaurants JB Messmer and Theaterkeller and the historic Malersaal. Hotel and Kurhaus share an underground car park.

The casino

The casino is in Friedrich Weinbrenner's Kurhaus. Table games include roulette, blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold'em and cash-game poker, with a separate slot area. A strict dress code applies at the tables.

Getting there

Baden-Baden station is in the Oos district, about 5 km away. Buses (e.g. line 201) run to Leopoldsplatz, then it is about 300 m on foot.

Good to know

The Kurhaus was built in 1821–1824 to plans by Friedrich Weinbrenner; the casino moved in in 1824. Morning tours of the rooms run at 10, 11, 12 and 1 pm (1 pm in English), 10 € per person, no ID check.

About 570 m away on Lichtentaler Allee, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa reopened in October 2025 after about two years of renovation (around 8–9 minutes to the casino).
