The hotel

The Steigenberger stands on Kaiser-Friedrich-Promenade at the edge of the spa park and was extensively modernised in 2015–2016. It has 174 rooms and suites, the restaurant “Ritter's” and eight meeting rooms. There is no pool; for thermal bathing it recommends the Kur-Royal Day Spa and the Taunus Therme.

The casino

The casino was founded in 1841 by François and Louis Blanc and has operated again since 1949, in the historic Brunnensälchen with later extensions. Tables offer roulette, blackjack and poker, plus a separate slot hall.

Getting there

Bad Homburg station (S-Bahn S5 from Frankfurt) is about 800 m from the hotel.

Good to know

The casino opened on 23 May 1841 and moved into the Kurhaus of the time in 1843. After gaming was banned in 1872, François Blanc became known above all for Monte Carlo. Today the casino has a “Dostojewskis Bar”.
